All Member Accounts require a onetime Activation. Your account is activated by clicking the activation link that is sent to the email address you used to register your account. You will not be allowed to login until you activate your account. If you did not receive an activation email, you will need to login to your account with your user id and password. The system will inform you that your account is not active. You can request to have the email resend to the email address you singed up with by clicking the “Re-send Activation Email” link at the bottom of the page.
Your account will remain inactive until you click the link in the activation email. If you have been outbid by another member you will receive an email informing you that you have been outbid. Also you will no longer be listed as high bidder on the item detail page. If there is still enough time before the auction ends, you can return to the items auction page and place a higher bid. In most cases the seller will contact you but, for some reason you do not here from the sell you can contact them by doing the following:
- Login to your account
- Select the “Members Area” tab
- In the “Bidding” section click on ”Won Items”
- Locate the item you won and click on the “Message Board” link
- At the bottom of this page you will have an Add Message area, use this to communicate directly with the seller regarding payment, shipping, etc.
All sent and received messages will be displayed in the Messaging section of the Members Area. You can append to a message you’ve sent or reply to a message you received. When you placed your bid on Zimzy you are electing Zimzy to act as your proxy and place all remaining bids for you until your maximum bid amount is reached. If your maximum bid amount is higher than the current high bidders maximum bid, your current bid will be the next bid increment above their maximum bid amount.
If another member bids higher than the current bid amount but less than you maximum bid amount, Zimzy will automatically place a bid for you that will make you the high bidder again. Zimzy will continue to bid for you until you maximum bid is reached. When a seller lists an item, they have the option to set a reserve price; this is the minimum amount of money they are willing to accept for the item. If the seller reserve price is not met the auction will end without a winner. If you receive the following message after you place a bid you will need to increase your bid until you reach the sellers reserve price.
“Your bid has been successfully placed, but it is under the reserve price.”
‘Please place a new and higher bid if you wish to meet the reserve price, or click on the link from the top right to return to the auction details page.”
Communications between Zimzy members is very simple through the Zimzy Messaging system. If you would like to contact the buyer from one of your actions, please do the following:
- Log into your account
- Select the “Members Area” tab
- Under "Selling" select “Sold Items” and a list of your sold auctions will be displayed
- Click the "Message board" link for the appropriate auction, to send your buyer a message or to view their contact info.

- Log into your account
- From the detail page of any auction you can click the tab labeled “Ask Poster a Question”

The Keyword Watch feature notifies you of new listings which contain any of the “Keywords” you have chosen. For example if you are looking for a “Laser Printer” you would enter the keyword(s) or phrase “Laser Printer” into the Keyword Watch system and each time a new auction is listed containing the word(s) or phrase “laser Printer” you will be notified. You can enter in as many keywords as you like.
The Keyword Watch system is located in the “Bidding” section of the Member’s area.
Payment gateways allow the secure transfer of funds from the credit card or bank account of the buyer to your account. Zimzy offers you the ability to setup several payment gateways including:
- PayPal
- Google Checkout
- Alertpay

Once you setup you PayPal account do the following:
- Login to your member account
- Select the Member Area tab
- In the My Account section click “Manage Account”
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the PayPal section and enter the email address you used to setup your PayPal account.
Google To register for a Google Checkout account click the logo below.

Registration is fast, easy, free and offers several benefits. Once you register with Zimzy, you can:

- Use RSS to keep get updates on items, stores.
- Access your information from any computer anywhere in the world.
Yes, each time you list an item you have the option to enable auto relist at the bottom of the Auction Settings page. You also have the choice to auto relist if the item is sold and the option to select the number of times you would like it to relist between 1 and 99 times. Not necessarily. In most cases, a high reputation rating is a good sign, but you should always check a member's reputation profile for any negative remarks. It's best not to judge members only on their reputation ratings. If you had a good experience with a buyer or seller on Zimzy, reward them with a positive comment. If you were treated poorly, try to resolve the problem first by contacting the member. Most problems can be corrected by improving communication. If things are still not resolved, consider leaving a negative comment, but remember to be fair. Our Reputation System enables members to enter comments about their dealings with other members. This helps members make a more informed decision.
All reputation comments are public and cannot be retracted once entered. Please use proper etiquette when posting (avoid all capital letters or screaming), remember to use the same language you would use if you were speaking to your buyer or seller in person. You can only leave one comment per transaction, so please allow time to work problem out before leaving reputation.
To read a member’s reputation file click the number next to the member’s name Example: zimzy_member (10) At the top of the Comments section you have the ability to sort the comments by:
- All Ratings – This will display all ratings.
- From Buyers – This will display all ratings left by buyers only.
- From Sellers – This will display all ratings left by sellers only.
- Left for Others – This will display the ratings left by this member for other members.
Important Reputation Policy Zimzy provides members with the ability to leave comments about their experiences in dealing with other members, through our reputation system. The actions below are prohibited:
- Threatening a member with negative Comments.
- Leaving Comments that contains vulgarity or profanity.
- Leaving Comments that discloses another member’s personally identifiable information.
Keep In Mind In the event that your reputation rating should reach the status of -2 (negative 2) your registration and account will be suspended. It is expected that you will use the Reputation System in a manner that upholds and maintains the integrity of the Reputation System. Leave Comments after completing any purchase or sale on Zimzy. Your honest Comments help shape Zimzy and directly impact the success and behavior of other Zimzy members. You can see a list of the transaction that still require Comments from you. Simply login to the Member’s Area, find the Reputation section and click on Leave Comments. Enable Reserve allows you to set the minimum price you will accept for your item. The reserve price amount is hidden from view so only you know what the reserve is. If the reserve price is not met, the auction will end without a winner. Accounts can be suspended for several reasons; here is a list of the more probable reasons for account suspension:
- Contact info is invalid
- You neglected to respond within 7 days of receiving an email from the Zimzy Admin Department regarding a complaint filed by a buyer or seller.
- Bidding on items without paying (Non Paying Bidder).
- Violation of the Zimzy Policies & Procedures or the Zimzy Terms & Conditions or any activity that would undermine or policies in regards to listing, spam, illegal items, links in auctions, etc..
- Reaching your $200 Maximum debit amount - to reactivate your account you are required to pay the debit amount in ful.
NOTE:Members who are suspended are prohibited from registering new accounts, bidding or selling on Zimzy by using any other existing accounts. Zimzy reserves the right to suspend any existing accounts as well as new accounts opened by anyone in the same household or anyone associated to a suspended user.
Verification is necessary to help us provide a safer environment for Zimzy Members. You can pay the onetime $1 verification fee through any of the Zimzy authorized payment gateways. Bonus - Your account will be credited with $25 that can be use towards all future listing and selling fees. Once verified you can list an unlimited number of items on Zimzy.
